I am glad to inform you that I have contacted Mr. Takami

As you know, I have a good knowledge of Natural Japanese Whetstones,
especially Kyoto finishing stones, I also have tried some rough natural
whetstones from other parts of Japan.
But there is one stone that I could not find, they call it Meara whetstone !!!

What I understood from the videos:
1. Meara is polishing whetstone
2. It is not form Kyoto area
3. Meara is very Hard whetstone, and slow with water only
4. Kyoto Finishing Whetstones are finer
5. Meara feels like glass
6. Meara whetstone come in large size only
I hope that you have more information about Meara whetstone,

以前八丈砥石工房さんに送っていただいた画像があったので、
参考に送ります。
八丈砥石はごくわずかしか商品化されてないので、きっと違うと
思いますが、「メアラ砥石」もこれと同類かもしれないですね。
